Therese Rudolph, an administrative assistant for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh art department, has been named the recipient of the June 2021 STAR Award.

She was nominated by Susan Maxwell, art department chair:

“Being the academic department associate for the art department is incredibly complex due to the many different areas that require supplies and special scheduling considerations. Terry is incredibly detail-oriented and has become our go-to expert on everything from the ins- and outs of purchasing, to travel regulations, scheduling issues and so much more.

She not only helps the department chair oversee a complex budget, scholarships and scheduling on all three campuses, she has really put in extra effort during this pandemic to make sure students and faculty have not only the PPE they need but also the art supplies to keep teaching. Two examples of her dedication to her job: she will drive to pick up supplies if they can’t be delivered, or she has on occasion dropped things off to faculty at home, will make an effort to deliver supplies to the classrooms so that it’s there when needed.

Terry spends a considerable amount of time creating charts and spreadsheets so that faculty understand scheduling and budget issues when they meet to make decisions and overall ensures that we have a clear picture of where things stand. Terry’s steady hand is not often something that people notice because she works behind the scenes without much attention given to her, but without her, life would be a lot more complicated!”
