In conjunction with UW-Fond du Lac’s celebration of its 50th anniversary, Paisley Harris, associate professor of history at the UW-Fond du Lac Campus will discuss the year of its founding. 1968 was a year of turmoil, violence and change. This year saw U.S. escalation in the Vietnam War and the shockingly successful Tet Offensive by North Vietnam; the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy; and a dramatic three-way Presidential election, which led to the election of Richard Nixon. Hear about this and more as we look at the United States in this pivotal year.
Harris teaches a variety of U.S. history courses.
