A Commemoration: Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting

November 1, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

On October 27, 2018, a senseless act of unimaginable horror and hatred ended the lives of 11 individuals and injured six others who were at the Tree of Life Congregation. Tree of Life is located in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which is known as the heart of the local Jewish community.

Individuals from the campus and surrounding community will be holding a candlelight gathering to commemorate the Pittsburgh Synagogue 11 and all whose lives have been touched by violence.

The vigil is sponsored by the UW Oshkosh’s Academic Support of Inclusive Excellence, Common Ground, Congregation B’nai Israel, the Interfaith Dialogue and Education Alliance (IDEA) and Reeve Union.

For more information, contact Sylvia Carey-Butler at (920) 424-3080.
