Alternative Careers in Teaching (ACT) Information Session

The Alternative Careers in Teaching Program (ACT) is holding an open house for current students interested in becoming middle school or high school teachers. Three information sessions will be held on the Oshkosh campus and are open to all current undergraduate and graduate students.
The following sessions will take place in Clow Hall Room 103:
- Wed. Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
- Thurs. Feb. 13 at 7 p.m
The ACT program helps students seeking careers as middle or high school teachers to accelerate their transition into the classroom by obtaining their initial teaching license in Wisconsin. Students must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher to be admitted to the program.
The program’s current licenses cover the following interests in teaching: English, computer science, math, technology and engineering, science and social studies.
Each session will cover:
- Program requirements
- Licensure–Subjects and age of students
- Costs
- Program delivery–mix of in-person and online classes
- How to sign up for an individual advising session
