Banquet & Keynote “Lessons from Lawns, Panthers and Frogs: Earth Stewardship in the Anthropocene” by Paul Robbins
October 6, 2015 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Donations welcome. How do we achieve social equity and ecological flourishing on an Earth that is entering a phase of unpredictable and rapid change? Many systems that sustain life on Earth, from the climate to the oceans, are in state of profound, and possibly irreversible transformation. At the same time, rapid changes allow new opportunities.
Briefly reviewing three examples of recent work from the US and India on lawn chemicals, panther conservation, and biodiverse plantation agriculture, this presentation urges us to search for ways to creatively coax ecosystems into more sustainable and resilient conditions. We will need to be stewards and designers, especially on a planet where there may be “no going back.”
Door open at 5:30pm, banquet begins at 6pm, Paul Robbins begins at 7pm!
