Becoming a Local Government Leader: Career and Networking Panel

The engaging conversation will feature tips and career advice for how to be successful in preparing, applying for and landing a leadership position in local government. Panelists include:

Danielle Block, PE, MPA
Danielle is a 2018 graduate of the UW Oshkosh MPA program. She currently serves as the administrator of the Village of Kimberly.

Mikko Hilvo, MPA
Mikko is a 2019 graduate of the UW Oshkosh MPA program. He currently serves as the administrator of the City of Cedarburg.

Dr. Stephen Hintz
Dr. Hintz is currently a member of Public Administration Associates, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in local government recruitment. He served on the MPA faculty at UWO from 1972-2001. Dr. Hintz holds a Ph.D. in political science from Yale University.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Mike Ford, Chair of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. Time will also be provided to network with fellow students, faculty and alumni.

Appetizers and refreshments will be provided.

The Whitburn Wednesdays monthly event series covers a wide range of pressing issues and features panelists representing a diversity of viewpoints. This month’s event is sponsored by the Whitburn Center for Governance and Policy Research, the UW Oshkosh Department of Public Administration and UW Oshkosh Career and Professional Development.
