Berlin Wall: Looking Back from Wisconsin

November 19, 1:20 pm

Imagine if a gigantic wall separated your city creating two different realities. Anyone who dared to cross would put their life in jeopardy. This was daily life for German citizens living in Berlin from 1961 until the wall fell 30 years ago.

Join us as three speakers unfold their unique experiences surrounding the Berlin Wall.  Prof Alberts grew up in West Berlin with the wall in her neighborhood. Prof. Hohbein-Deegen grew up in East Germany. Joel Waldinger is an award-winning journalist on German-American interests.
