Black History Month: Women and STEM: The Disparity of Black Women in STEM

Taviare Hawkins is an associate professor of physics at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and specializes in computational methods and experimental biophysics. In celebration of Black History Month, Hawkins will share her journey to becoming the 50th black woman in U.S. history to earn a doctorate in physics. This event is sponsored by the UW System Women and Science Program, Women’s Center, Fit Oshkosh and Black Student Union.
