The Fox Valley Concert Band under the direction of Marc Sackman will give its Winter Concert Friday, March 17, 2023, at 7:30 pm in Perry Hall on the UWO Fox Cities campus in Menasha. The concert is free and open to the public. It’s St. Paddy’s Day, so the band will present a program centered on Celtic music, including Irish Tune from County Derry by Percy Grainger, Malcom Arnold’s Four Scottish Dances, and Mannin Veen (Dear Isle of Man) by Haydn Wood. Also on the program are two compositions, which are also steeped in folk music or folk traditions, William Grant Still’s From the Delta and Albanian Dance by Shelly Hanson. Our march for the evening will be a late composition by John Philip Sousa, The Gallant Seventh.
