Human Trafficking: A Global Issue

April 14, 2015 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Human trafficking has been perceived as a foreign issue, only occurring in Asian countries, unfortunately that is not true. Human trafficking is present in every country around the world. It is as local as right here in Wisconsin and other parts of the United States. This presentation answers the questions what exactly IS human trafficking, what are popular myths and misconceptions about human trafficking, and what are some local and global strategies to try and eliminate human trafficking. The presenter will also provide some information on how to not fall into the traps of human trafficking. This presentation is provided by Social Justice Minor Program Capstone student, Katie Flynn.
