Learning in Retirement: Learning in Tanzania
November 12 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Join UWO alumni and friends as we discover what women in Tanzania are doing to improve their social challenges such as lack of education, HIV/AIDS and poverty. Liz Cannon, director of the UWO LGBTQ+ Resource Center and professor of women’s gender studies and Carmen Heider, communications professor discuss their experiences visiting non-profits and non-government organizations on five trips. You’ll also explore the most rewarding aspects of travel to Tanzania such as the customs, traditions and iconic Mt. Kilimanjaro and Ngorongaro Crater.
Parking is available in Lots 7 and 13. These lots are adjacent to Sage Hall and Kolf Sports Center. Parking is free in any unmarked spot and does not and does NOT require a UWO parking permit. If parking is not available in either of those locations, parking is $5 and can be paid online.
