Milwaukee Beer Barons History Tour

June 8 @ 7:30 am - 6:00 pm

$139

Join Online and Continuing Education for a special day. Begin the day with a self-guided tour of the Milwaukee County Historical Society a.k.a. “Brewer’s Bank.”  Enjoy lunch in a historic restaurant featuring original woodwork, tile arches, leaded & stained glass, and carved bar.  Visit a Polish Bar that houses the oldest sanctioned tenpin bowling alley in the U. S.  Receive half of a Polish beer and a chance to try a frame on real wood bowling alley still set by human pinsetters.  End the day with a docent led tour of the final resting place of many of the city’s famed beer barons, politicians, and social elite.  Their headstones and crypts are quite elaborate and worth seeing. There is minimal walking, however you may walk during the tour of the cemetery. Optional bowling is downstairs and there is not an elevator. UWO alumni receive a $5 discount using code 5off at check-out.

Pick up in Menahsa, Oshkosh and Fond du Lac. There is minimal walking but you must be able to enter/exit the bus multiple times and be able to stand at locations. Please direct any questions to Julie Kiefer at kieferj@uwosh.edu.
