University Personnel System (UPS)
In the 2011-13 biennial budget two personnel systems were mandated; one for UW-Madison and one for the remainder of UW System (UPS) that would address staffing, compensation, training, performance management, diversity and legal compliance.
The University Staff Council (USC) is working closely with the Human Resources Department to develop local policies which fall under the University System policies.
The UW System maintains a UPS page located here.
USC is looking for help developing these local policies. If interested in serving, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Below is a list of policies that are being worked on or have been finalized. When working on our local policies, we must function under the broader UW System language. We are able to craft language and policy specific to our institution as long as it falls under the language dictated by the system level policy.
