Field Trips

Earth science allows us to integrate math and many different sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, etc.) into the learning experience.  Because earth science is all around us and is so important to our daily lives, it is accessible, relevant, and interesting to everyone.  What’s more, earth science—think volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis and dinosaurs—is dynamic and exciting.

We assist Wisconsin teachers in meeting science standards and help their students achieve science literacy.  Using hands-on activities, inquiry-based interaction, and enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides, we tailor each museum tour to the specific grade/age of the students and, if requested, we can focus on the curriculum teachers are currently covering in the classroom.

School Field Trips

Engage students with our one-hour, interactive, educational, hands-on tours. Our tours are led by well trained, knowledgeable guides and fulfill teaching standards. The tours can be tailored to your curriculum and are geared toward the age/grade of your students.

Youth Groups | Daycare

Enjoy a tour in our hands-on, interactive museum and exciting planetarium program. The museum daycare/youth group tours have more “fun” aspects than our regular school tours, like making thunder, going on a “rock” picnic or handling really big teeth!

Homeschool

The Weis is a great place for families who homeschool. We can accommodate different time schedules, varying ages and specific topics for homeschool groups and know how to work with a variety of learning styles. We are also happy to accommodate extra adults with no extra fees!

Private Tours

Visit the Weis Museum for a unique, private tour for your social organization, convention-goers or retirement community and learn about our prehistoric past and topics in today’s news. Our docents will provide an engaging, educational, fun tour of the museum for your group. We can accommodate tours in both daytime and evening hours on weekdays and weekends.
