Student Recreation & Wellness Collaborations

Women Adventure Outdoors

The outdoor adventure scene has largely been dominated by men and we want to help more women enjoy the great outdoors! Join the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) and the Women’s Center for outdoor adventures. All equipment is provided by the OAC. These free excursions are led by women-identified staff. Email oac@uwosh.edu to sign up.

Fall 2021 Schedule:

Women Lifting Up

We recognize that the strength theater (aka the pit), platforms, and racks, among other areas of the SRWC, can be an unwelcoming space for women. We hope that the Women Lifting Up initiative will help build a community of women who can lift or work out together and foster confidence claiming rightful space in the SRWC!

When available, the Women Lifting Up schedule is listed as part of the group exercise schedule.

The Body Project at UW Oshkosh

Developed by the Oregon Research Institute, The Body Project is a dissonance-based body-acceptance program designed to help women resist cultural pressures to conform to the appearance ideal standard of female beauty and reduce their pursuit of unrealistic bodies. Our mission for the Body Project at UW Oshkosh is to empower women to challenge the appearance ideal and embrace the unique beauty of themselves and others. Learn more about the project and how to sign up here.

Head over to the Student Recreation website for more information about recreation, health, fitness, and wellness.
