Women Adventure Outdoors

The outdoor adventure scene has largely been dominated by men and we want to help more women enjoy the great outdoors! Join the Student Recreation and Wellness Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) and the Women’s Center for outdoor adventures. All equipment is provided by the OAC. These free excursions are led by women-identified staff. 

Fall 2022 Schedule:

  • September 11: Kayaking and Hammocking on the Fox
  • October 16: Hiking at High Cliff
  • November 13: Yoga and Cocoa
  • December 3: Climbing at Adventure Rock in Milwaukee

The Body Project at UW Oshkosh

Developed by the Oregon Research Institute, The Body Project is a dissonance-based body-acceptance program designed to help women resist cultural pressures to conform to the appearance ideal standard of female beauty and reduce their pursuit of unrealistic bodies. Our mission for the Body Project at UW Oshkosh is to empower women to challenge the appearance ideal and embrace the unique beauty of themselves and others.
