This arts integrated lesson combines photography, 8th grade American History, and 6th-grade science. Students in 6th grade constructed and tested pinhole cameras. 8th-grade students then used the cameras to recreate Civil War battle scenes through the art form of tableau. Both 6th and 8th graders learned how to develop film in a dark room. This was a great project with incredible results at both grade levels!
