We all went to sleep last night hoping for a morning dose of certainty in this uncertain 2020. As many expected, votes are still being counted. It looks like we will wait longer for presidential election results.

I have no extravagant words or wisdom to share this morning. I will keep it simple: Be kind and caring to one another.

I ask us all to consider the impact our words and feelings can have on classmates, coworkers and neighbors as our emotions range from excitement to anxiety. The finish line of a contentious election is by no means the end of political analysis and ideological discussions. For many of us, there remains an uneasiness about our rights and personal safety. We acknowledge the impact this has on people.

Please continue to embody civility and support.
