Environmental Research and Innovation Center (ERIC)

The Environmental Research and Innovation Center (ERIC) at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh serves as a research and testing center for environmental health professionals, industries looking to evaluate materials for biogas potential, and conducting a variety of customized research projects.
ThUSCompostingCouncilLogoe ERIC lab is a Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) certified laboratory by the United States Composting Council.



The ERIC is also proud to be:

  • The first and only laboratory certified by the American Biogas Council (ABC) to test digestate for the Digestate Certification Program;
  • Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection (DATCP) certified for bacteriological testing, including analysis for E. coli and total coliforms in surface water and drinking water.
  • Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) certified for arsenic and nitrate in drinking water, and total phosphorus in drinking water, surface water, and solids.
