Earlier this month, University of Wisconsin System President Ray Cross and Board of Regents President Andrew S. Petersen finalized the search and screen committee for next chancellor of UW-Green Bay. The Green Bay search is the third chancellor search conducted under new rules that have reduced the role of faculty in chancellor search committees. The first search conducted under these new rules was for the UW Whitewater Chancellor. The Whitewater search, which concluded last spring, was not without controversy over the reduced role and voice for faculty and concerns about campus and community stakeholders being left out of the process. Chancellor search and screen committees are now comprised of ten members:  five Regents and five non-Regent members including two faculty, one staff representative from the institution, one student, and one community and/or alumni member. Under the previous search and screen procedure, faculty were a majority on search and screen committees at this level. In addition to the UW-Green Bay search, UW-Stout is in the middle of its own chancellor search process.
