Registered Student Organization Training

This training is mandatory for at least one member and open to all members of organizations and clubs. The training will cover orientation material and will be provide workshop sessions covering a wide variety of needs. Advisors are welcome to attend.

Workshop Wednesday

The Workshop Wednesday Leadership Series is a day-time leadership initiative coordinated by Reeve Union Student Involvement to offer opportunities for students to attend workshops throughout the year. Professionals across campus collaborate to offer workshops that will enhance participant’s leadership skills to provide professional development highly encouraged for successful employment after college. Many of these sessions could be added to a participant’s resume to promote their critical thinking abilities and leadership skills development. Please contact Carmen Hetzel, at hetzelc@uwosh.edu, if you have any questions or ideas for future workshops.

Alternative Break

An Alternative Break is a trip where a group of 9 college students engage in volunteer service over a University break period. Each trip has a focus on a particular social issue, such as (but not limited to) education, privilege, health education and sustainability. Students learn about the social issues and then perform service projects with local non-profit organizations. Alternative Breaks challenge students to critically think and react to problems faced by members of the communities in which they are involved.

National Society of Leadership and Success

NSLS is the nation’s largest leadership honor society. Students are selected for membership based on either academic standing or leadership potential. Candidacy is a nationally recognized achievement of honorable distinction. With 596 chapters, the Society currently has 869,403 members nationwide. NSLS is a group of students that attends live speaker broadcasts, participates in leadership training and experiences the benefits of success networking teams. The overall goal is to attain leadership and life skills that will provide them with the tools to achieve personal and professional goals. Oshkosh Student Government

The Oshkosh Student Government represents all students regarding issues and policies relating to academic and non-academic scores. Established in 1959, we are an advocate for the best interests of the students at UW Oshkosh. The State of Wisconsin affords all students the opportunity to provide input in all operations of UW Oshkosh.

Greek 101

Greek 101 is a one-day leadership retreat for new members of fraternities and sororities. The objectives include: getting to know other new members in the fraternity/sorority community, team building and building awareness of issues facing fraternities and sororities. This event is facilitated by undergraduate leaders in the fraternity/sorority community.

Order of Omega

Order of Omega is an honor society for members of Greek organizations. The organization recognizes juniors and seniors who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective organization and within the Greek, campus and local community. Members are selected from the top 3% of Greeks at each institution. Order of Omega now has over 500 chapters in the United States and Canada, and over 200,000 members!

Student Governance

Student Governance is dedicated to providing a medium for students to voice their concerns and opinions. These organizations, by serving as the voice of the student body, provide student representation on various university committees and have the opportunity to represent the student perspective on a variety of campus issues. Through these organizations, students become engaged in activities that enhance their educational experience.
