The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh athletics schedules in recent days. Here are the latest updates as of 10 a.m. Thursday:

Saturday swimming meet canceled

UW Oshkosh’s swimming and diving dual meet scheduled for Saturday in Albee Hall against the men’s and women’s programs from Carthage College has been canceled due to COVID-19 related protocols.

The Titans, who won a pair of dual meets against Beloit College on Jan. 7, are planning to compete against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) rival UW-Stevens Point on Friday (Jan. 14) in Stevens Point. Friday’s meet is slated to begin at 5 p.m. from the UW-Stevens Point Aquatic Center.

Saturday’s men’s basketball game at UW-Stout canceled

The UWO men’s basketball game planned for Saturday at WIAC adversary UW-Stout has been canceled due to COVID-19 related protocols.

Per WIAC COVID-19 procedures, the game is deemed a “no contest.” The game will not count toward the overall record of either team or for NCAA Division III postseason selection purposes. The teams may attempt to reschedule the game later in the season as a nonconference contest.

UWO (13-2, 3-1 WIAC), ranked sixth in Division III by D3hoops.com, is scheduled to play at second-ranked UW-Platteville on Wednesday (Jan. 19) in its next game. Tipoff from Bo Ryan Court is set for 7 p.m.

Gymnasts find replacement for Friday’s canceled home meet

Due to COVID-19 related protocols, Friday’s WIAC women’s gymnastics meet in Kolf Sports Center between UWO and visiting UW-Stout and UW-Whitewater has been canceled.

UWO found a replacement for the canceled meet and will now open its 2022 season Friday at a quadrangular hosted by Hamline University (Minnesota). Joining UWO and Hamline University in Saint Paul for the 6:30 p.m. meet are Minnesota schools Gustavus Adolphus College and Winona State University. All three Minnesota programs are associate members of the WIAC.

UWO previously had its meet at the University of California, Davis, on Jan. 9 also canceled due to COVID-19 related protocols.

Saturday’s women’s basketball game vs. UW-Stout canceled

Due to COVID-19 related protocols, Saturday’s women’s basketball game between UWO and visiting UW-Stout in Kolf Sports Center has been canceled.

Per WIAC COVID-19 procedures, the game is deemed a “no contest.” The game will not count toward the overall record of either team or for NCAA Division III postseason selection purposes. The teams may attempt to reschedule the game later in the season as a nonconference contest.

UWO (11-3, 1-2 WIAC), ranked 21st in Division III by D3hoops.com, is slated to host UW-Platteville on Wednesday in its next game. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in Kolf Sports Center.

UWO previously had its games against UW-River Falls on Jan. 8 and UW-Stevens Point on Jan. 12 canceled due to COVID-19 related protocols.

Wrestling team alters upcoming schedule

The UWO wrestling team has adjusted its competition schedule for the remainder of January due to COVID-19 related protocols.

UWO, ranked 13th in the NCAA Division III by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, has canceled its appearance at Saturday’s Manchester University Spartan Classic in North Manchester, Indiana.

The Titans (11-1, 2-1 WIAC) have also changed their travel destination for Jan. 22. Instead of competing at the Harper College Open in Palatine, Illinois, UWO will now participate at the University of Nebraska at Kearney Midwest Duals in Kearney, Nebraska.

UWO’s WIAC dual meet at fourth-ranked UW-La Crosse (6-1, 0-0 WIAC) on Jan. 28 remains as previously scheduled.
