The first session of a new partnership between University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Alumni Relations and Propel, a local young professional network, will explore how students can get to know themselves better as the first step in becoming strong leaders.

The session will take place Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Culver Family Welcome Center from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and will include a time for networking along with a light breakfast before the presentation.

The We Know Who We Are session features Matt Lewis, head coach of the Titan men’s basketball team, sharing practical and tactical tips to help students become strong leaders.

“College-age students are in a major learning and development phase of their life,” Lewis said. “A huge part of what they are learning is who they are as people.”

Lewis said it’s important to know yourself in  life.

“The more you learn about yourself, the more success, joy and happiness you will find,” he said “We will discuss simple methods for continuing to process who you are and who you want to be as a leader. We will also discuss how to communicate who you are and what you believe in as a leader to the group you are trying to lead.”
