A Li Hu Tribute Art Exhibit will be on display at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in the Annex Gallery of the Arts and Communication building, 1001 Elmwood Ave., Oshkosh, March 30-April 18.

Gallery hours are Mon.-Fri. 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Mon.-Thurs. 7 to 9 p.m.; Sat.-Sun. 1 to 4 p.m.
UW Oshkosh Emeritus Art Professor Li Hu, who passed away in April 2016, spent his life as an artist and as an admirer of the arts. Hu came to UW Oshkosh to teach in 1994 and eventually worked his way through the ranks to full professor.
An exhibit reception will be held Thursday, April 5, 6:30-8 p.m., with a tribute at 7 p.m. While there is no charge to attend the event, donations are appreciated. Limited pieces of Hu’s artwork will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Li Hu Scholarship Fund for UW Oshkosh students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.

Hu’s work has been collected by several museums and art institutions and 100 private collectors.  His biography and work has been included in more than 20 books, including Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in America, published in the United States, and One Hundred Outstanding ArtistsThe Dictionary of World Famous Figure and The Dictionary of the Achievements of World Chinese Artists published in Hong Kong and China.
