’66 Reid Schoonover Jr. (BAE), of Clintonville, is a featured artist through Oct. 6 at the Art Spirit Gallery in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

’68 Wayne Wiegand (BA), of Walnut Creek, California, recently published The Desegregation of Public Libraries in the Jim Crow South: Civil Rights and Local Activism.

’70 Thomas Recob (BA), of Platteville, retired from the Colorado Student Loan Program.

’75 Keith LaGraves (BS), of Wakefield, Massachusetts, is a retired certified public accountant and partner with Russell, Brier & Co. in Boston.

’75 Mary Jo Peters (BA), of Langlade, coordinated SS. James & Stanislaus Parish’s joint congregation centennial celebration in White Lake and Langlade. Peters also serves as a lector and Communion minister.

’79 Linda (Zdroik) Jerzak (BSN), of Rhinelander, is a nurse practitioner with Aspirus Clinics in Medford, Phillips and Prentice. Jerzak has almost 40 years of nursing experience, 25 as a board-certified nurse practitioner.

’79 Joseph Johnson (BS), of San Diego, California, is the interim provost and senior vice president of San Diego State University. Johnson is writing two books, Leadership in America’s Best Urban Schools and Five Practices for Improving the Success of Latino Students.

’83 Lisa Zemlock (BME) and ’39 (MS), of Oshkosh, retired after 35 years as the middle school band director with the Winneconne Community School District.

’91 Jill Ahles (BSE), of Neenah, is the principal at St. Mary Catholic Middle School. Ahles was formerly a teaching principal at St. Mary Elementary in Menasha.

’91 Lynn (Mellberg) Gilles (BS) and ’02 (MPA), of Fond du Lac, has been the Fond du Lac Area Transit manager for 15 years. Gilles also chairs the Wisconsin Public Transportation Association.

’91 Jennifer (Beck) Seymour (BS), of Costa Rica, and her husband, Greg, seek adventure. The Seymours moved to Costa Rica, hiked the 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail and are preparing to hike the 500-mile Camino de Santiago trail to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

’92 Korey Mallien (BS), of Sturgeon Bay, is the athletic director for his alma mater, the Southern Door School District. Mallien is a former sports editor for the Door County Advocate.

’97 Ed Karrels (BS), of Urbana, Illinois, an alumnus of Fort Atkinson High School, funded a $40,000 computer lab expansion at the school. Karrels, the 56th employee at Google, retired at age 30.

’99 Leah Burbach (MBA), of Merrill, is an insurance product marketing specialist with Church Mutual Insurance Company.

’00 Dean Stewart (MBA), of De Pere, is the executive director of the Center for Exceptional Leadership at St. Norbert College. Stewart also is a member of the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors.

’02 E. Joey Chancellor (BSE), of Neenah, is the associate principal and summer school coordinator for the New London Intermediate/Middle School.

’02 Michael Glod (BBA), of Markesan, is a new director on the Markesan Bancshares Inc. Board of Directors. Glod is the owner of Glod American Family Insurance in Markesan and Lomira.

’02 Katherine (Barnica) Rose (BS), of Beloit, moved back to Wisconsin after five years in Los Angeles, California. Rose and her husband have two sons.

’02 Catherine (Penkwitz) Wood (BSE), of Kimberly, is a Spanish teacher in the School District of New London. Wood had been a Spanish teacher for 16 years with the Appleton Area School District.

’03 Angela (Rondello) Woodruff (BSE) and ’12 (MSE), of Woodruff, is a seventh-grade language arts teacher in the Minocqua J1 School District.

’04 Florian Kardoskee (BS), of Lansing, Kansas, is chief of reference services with the Department of the Army in Fort Leavenworth.

’05 Ashley (Owen) Bielmeier (BBA), of Menasha, obtained her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Bielmeier is employed by J. J. Keller & Associates.

’05 Stephanie Cull (BSE), of Hazelhurst, is a special education teacher at Lakeland Star Academy, a charter school in the Minocqua J1 School District.

’06 Alicia (Reed) Bailey (BS), of Davenport, Iowa, has worked as the project administrator for Continental Fire Sprinkler Company for five years.

’06 Michael McCabe (BS) and ’09 (MSE), of Edgerton, is principal at Brookwood Middle School in Genoa City. McCabe and his wife have three daughters.

’06 Clint Rowley (BS), of Stoughton, was promoted to sergeant with the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, where he has worked since 2014. Rowley was previously a State Patrol officer.

’08 Matthew Byczek (BSN), of Waunakee, is the assistant nurse manager of emergency services with UnityPoint Health-Meriter in Madison.

’08 Zach Cotter (BBA) and ’09 Cassandra (Mayer) Cotter (BSE), of Sheboygan, are married with two kids. Zach is a senior dealer success consultant with Cox Automotive.

’09 Damaris (Membreno Casco) Milfred (BBA), of Waupun, is an English as a Second Language (ESL) and Spanish teacher in the Waterloo School District. Milfred is originally from Honduras.

’10 Bridgette McDonald (BSE), of Campbellsport, teaches students with intellectual disabilities at Lomira High School.

’10 Sara (Jeffers) Montonati (BA), of Neenah, is a public relations specialist at Miron Construction Co. Montonati has more than eight years of public relations experience.

’10 Brian Vollmer (BBA), of Chicago, Illinois, celebrated five years of employment with Direct Supply, where he serves as a senior account manager.

’11 Mary Kate (Tomczak) Maske (BS), of Janesville, works at Rock County Human Services and Crossroads Counseling Center. Maske was married in June.

’11 Natalee (Kasmiskie) Stafford (BA), of Indianapolis, Indiana, recently relocated from Salt Lake City, Utah. Stafford is a volunteer engagement manager with Wheeler Mission.

’12 Eric Balkman (BS), of Appleton, is co-host and producer of The Show, an afternoon sports talk show on 95.3 and 99.1 FM The Score.

’12 Elisa Derickson (BA), of Madison, has fostered 11 children in the last three years. Derickson and her husband are adopting their foster son, Cash, and are fostering his baby sister.

’12 Ciara Kissane (BS), of Libertyville, Illinois, is the head cross country and track coach at Lake Forest College.

’13 Ryan Burg (BLS), of Sheboygan, is serving a third term on the Sheboygan Area School District Board of Education.

’14 Jena Burton (BAS), of Cornell, is an elementary school special education teacher in the Cornell School District. Burton was previously an interpreter and volleyball coach for the district.

’14 Meghan Geffers (MSE), of Denmark, is a fifth-grade teacher in the Denmark School District. Geffers taught eight years in the Green Bay School District.

’14 Kevin Martinson (BSE), of Oshkosh, is a high school emotional and behavioral disorder (EBD) teacher in the Hudson School District.

’15 Ben Heindel (BBA) and ’16 Claire (Mayer) Heindel (BSE), of Wausau, were married in July. Ben is an e-commerce specialist with Hsu’s Ginseng Enterprises Inc.

’16 Breeanna Lehman (BS), of Oshkosh, is a massage therapist at Fresh Salon & Spa in Winneconne.

’16 Kelly Wagner (BSE), of Malone, is a kindergarten teacher in the Markesan School District.

’17 Emilie Heidemann (BA), of Beaver Dam, is a writer for Isthmus. Heidemann’s first article discusses Madison’s emerald ash borer eradication program.

’17 Julia Straubhaar (BSE), of Blue Mounds, teaches third through fifth grade at Creative Minds Charter School in the Minocqua J1 School District.

’17 Christopher Watters (BME), of Shawano, is the elementary music and the middle and high school band teacher in the Montello School District.

’18 Seena Abel (BSE), of Menasha, is a special education teacher at Parkview Elementary School in the School District of New London.

’18 Sara Brunlieb (BSE), of Columbus, is a physical education teacher at Columbus Middle School.

’18 Mary Chancellor (BA), of Eldorado, is a self-employed writer working on her second book of poems and an autobiography of her life as a trucker.

’18 Nate Dunston (BAS), of Barron, is the new ambulance director for Sawyer County.

’18 Mitchell Johnson (BSE), of Marinette, is a social studies teacher in the Princeton School District.

’18 Hailey Kadolph (BSE), of Colby, is a sixth-grade teacher at Owen-Withee Elementary School in Owen.

’18 Ryan Lindley (BME), of Middleton, is a sixth through 12-grade choral music and music appreciation teacher in the Waterloo School District.

’18 Rachel O’Donnell (BS), of Chicago, Illinois, enrolled in physical therapy school. O’Donnell plans to graduate with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2021.

’18 Cassidy Schultz (BSE), of Watertown, is a fourth through sixth-grade special education teacher at Van Brunt Elementary School in the School District of Horicon.

’18 Christian Steinert (BBA), of Columbus, Ohio, is an associate channel marketing analyst for Vertiv Co. Steinert is currently working on a podcast called Passion2Knowledge.
