Ever since she danced The Nutcracker as a young girl for the Nutcracker in the Castle event at the Paine Art Center and Gardens, Hannah DCamp has loved P.I. Tchaikovsky’s ballet. That’s why it was a natural choice for her University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Honors thesis.

DCamp, of Oshkosh, recently presented her study that analyzed Tchaikovsky’s unique harmonic, rhythmic and textural choices to portray character traits and key plot points in the ballet. Her music faculty adviser on the project was Julia Chybowski.
