The Division of Online and Continuing Education (OCE) invites students from all three University of Wisconsin Oshkosh campuses to celebrate Nontraditional Student Week by visiting their office in Lincoln Hall as well as joining the Nontraditional Student Organization (NTSO).

NTSO encourages students to provide input about different academic and social-based activities for the organization to host. Participation in NTSO can be carried out entirely online. The goal is to bring about a nontraditional student community and support system. The organization has proven to be a great way to connect with other nontraditional classmates who face similar challenges and achievements in education.

This year OCE is searching for four students to become NTSO officers. Officers not only have the opportunity to oversee a significant campus organization, but they also can add substantial leadership experience to their professional resumes. The following officer positions are currently vacant:

  • President– Preside over meetings and establish an agenda prior to meetings
  • Vice President– Assist the president and oversee meetings in the president’s absence
  • Secretary– Support the vice president and coordinate involvement with other student and non-student organizations
  • Treasurer– Facilitate the secretary’s responsibilities and manage all finances for NTSO

To serve as an NTSO officer, a student must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing at the Oshkosh, Fox Valley or Fond du Lac campuses. Each officer term lasts for one academic school year.

NTSO provides a venue for “nontrads” to have fun, help each other succeed and enhance the educational experiences of all adult students.

If you are interested in participating in the Non-Traditional Student Organization or would like more information, contact Beth Richards, senior program adviser, at richards@uwosh.edu.

An Invitation: Visit OCE at Lincoln Hall during Nontraditional Student Week

We understand that being a nontraditional student is challenging at times. For that, we would like to show our appreciation. During Nontraditional Student Week, held Nov. 5–9, we invite nontraditional students from all three campuses to visit our office to receive a small token recognizing all the hard work you do. OCE is located on the second floor of Lincoln Hall accessed through the door on the north side of the building.
