Welcome back!

With a new semester ahead of us IT wants to provide you with some resources to help you succeed as well as some information about policies and policy updates.

For those of you wondering about printing around campus we have information on our Knowledgebase, Student Printing @ UW Oshkosh. Most printers are located in computer labs on all of our three campuses, for more information please visit this Knowledgebase article, Computer Lab Locations.

A few policy changes happened over the summer. The biggest one being that email forwarding was turned off, meaning that if you forwarded your UW Oshkosh email to another address outside of the UW Oshkosh organization it will no longer work. IT encourages the use of the mobile app for users who would like to access email on the go. We have instructions in our Knowledgebase for Outlook – iOS Setup, and Outlook – Android Setup.

In an effort to increase security on our campus, last semester we implemented Microsoft MFA for all students. We have more information on our MFA for Students website, which includes a how-to register. Student employees will also need to register for Duo, a different multi-factor authentication solution. For those students who have jobs on campus, Duo will need to be set up for both NetID and Staff.NetID accounts. Please visit the Duo Device Management Portal to either register or re-register devices for Duo.

Finally, if you need in-person IT assistance, please visit our Student Technology Center, located in the basement of Polk Library, room 005, across from Testing Services. The Student Technology Center is open from 7:30am until 10:00pm Mondays through Thursdays and until 4:30pm on Fridays. Alternatively, you can visit the Clow Technology Center, in the basement of Clow, room C010, across from the Clow Computer Lab. They are open weekdays from 7:30am until 4:30pm.

Have a great semester!
