UW Oshkosh welcomes visiting scholars to all three campuses to exchange ideas and advance international collaborative teaching, lecturing and research efforts.
Our office accepts applications from UW Oshkosh Colleges, departments and other units to support short-term scholars, research scholars, visiting professors, and others who will engage in research and creative activities.
UW Oshkosh is one institution with three world-shaping campuses. Students across the entire region have neighborhood access to UW Oshkosh with expanded program options and opportunities.
UWO has the distinct advantage of being in northeastern Wisconsin’s Fox Valley region, which is highly populated and home to many industry leaders with national and international reach. This close proximity provides students with access to high-impact internships and job opportunities.
The UW Oshkosh International Student Services (ISS) must prepare a legal document called the “Form DS-2019” for you before you can apply for your U.S. visa. You’ll take this form and other documents to your visa interview.
To prepare all forms properly our staff will need a lot of information, most of which is required by the U.S. government. We are not legally allowed to give you Form DS-2019 until we have collected and reviewed all of the documents listed on the application.
Researchers can apply to access both the UW Oshkosh library and the Oshkosh public library. Through both libraries, you can access materials from other university and public libraries in the state of Wisconsin.
Please note: researchers who audit or take a university course for credit do not need to apply for library privileges. Privileges are automatically granted upon course enrollment.
UWO will provide you a letter of invitation which can be used to secure grant funding from your home institution or other funding organization and can be used with your visa application.
Please supply the following information so that the invitation letter is correct:
- Your complete, legal name.
- Your citizenship.
- Your field of research.
- The specific activities in which you hope to engage while at UW Oshkosh.
- Your intended date of arrival at UW Oshkosh.
- Your intended date of departure from UW Oshkosh.
- A list of activities that your funding will support (for example, airline ticket, housing, meals, etc.).
- The total amount of financial support that will be provided by your home institution or a funding institution.
Your financial sponsorship must equal at least US$1,000 per month at UW Oshkosh.
You must show at least an additional US $500 per month at UW Oshkosh for each dependent who accompanies you.
We’re happy that you’re considering applying to UW Oshkosh. If you have any questions at all as you go through this process, please contact us at +1-920-424-2278 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
