Students will create Egyptian inspired lamps using shape names, characteristics, angles, and lines that they learned in our Geometry unit. This can be used as a post-assessment, a review, or a math extension lesson. Lesson plan, material list, slide show, and template are all linked in the lesson plan.

Students will design and create a lamp that has symmetry using geometric shapes with acute, obtuse, and right angles. They will make a color coded template for the classroom teacher to grade. In art they will use metal stamps to stamp the template design out. They will create their design on multiple shapes of paper to form a 3-D lamp that will fit over a tealight.
