Information Systems

An Information Systems (IS) major is a field of study that focuses on the design, implementation, and management of information technology systems in organizations. It combines elements of technology, management, and business to prepare students for careers in information technology, business management, and related fields. Students in an IS program learn how to use technology to solve business problems, manage and analyze data, and improve organizational efficiency. The curriculum covers topics such as introduction to programming, database management, network design, and analysis. Graduates of our IS program are equipped with the skills and knowledge to design, develop, and manage information systems in any industry.

What does an IT professional do?

Manage and Organize

IT professionals are responsible for managing and organizing the information contained in the computer networks of a given organization, including external hardware components.

Solve Problems

IT Professionals use technology to solve problems of all sizes and types. You will have opportunities to work on some of the most challenging and exciting problems facing the world today.

Work in Teams

IT Professionals use collaboration and brainstorming to think of new and innovative ideas. Being able to work well with others is an essential part of the IT field.
