Student Teaching and Program Completion

During this semester, teacher candidates are engaged in one 18 week school placement or two 9 week placements depending on their major.  The student teaching experiences are based on the academic calendar for the placement school and are full time (5 days per week, full days) for 18 weeks.  The start, end and breaks (including spring break) during student teaching are based on the district’s academic calendar, not the UW Oshkosh academic calendar.

Upon successful completion of student teaching and all program requirements, UW Oshkosh COEHS will recommend to the WI Department of Public Instruction that the teacher candidate be licensed in the appropriate program area.
