Minority Student Grant & Scholarship

Lawton Undergraduate Minority Retention Grant (Lawton Grant)

Full-time minority students are eligible for up to $4,000 per academic year and a maximum of $16,000.

Muriel A. Hawkins Legacy Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Muriel Hawkins in 2008. The purpose of the award is to support students who have been traditionally underrepresented in study abroad.  Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be currently receiving services from the Center for Student Support and Belonging (click here for a list of offices included in the Center). Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and must have a clean disciplinary record. Applicant must have been accepted into a UW Oshkosh study abroad program. Applicant must participate in a study abroad program that takes place in the 2024 calendar year. Recipient is expected to participate in classroom visits and attend in the study abroad fair to present on their experience with students. This award will be paid out against the recipient’s study abroad program fee.

Searching and Applying for UWO Scholarships

To view and apply for UWO scholarships, you will use our scholarship award system, which is called Academic Works. Students must be admitted to the University to apply for scholarships, but may browse scholarships at any point in the admissions process.

Academic Works is the main scholarship database for the University and includes all scholarships for both new and continuing students.
