Hello EAA AirVenture lodging guests!
On May 1st, the Experimental Aircraft Association announced the cancellation of EAA AirVenture 2020. The same day, we communicated to all guests of their options for transferring their reservation to 2021 or requesting a refund. We have also sent multiple email communications throughout the summer reminding guests to indicate their decision. Our COVID-19 policy released on May 1st stated that guests had the following options:
1. Transfer all money from the 2020 reservation to a new 2021 reservation. You will be offered the opportunity to keep the same room type that you had in 2020. We recommend you select this option as it will secure your lodging rooms for EAA AirVenture 2021. We look forward to serving your lodging needs in 2021. After May 22, 2020, this option will automatically be activated for your reservation and all monies will be moved to 2021.
2. Request a full refund for all monies paid for 2020. With this option, you would not be able to guarantee a specific room type for 2021 until reservations open on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020 – the date we have established to accommodate lodging reservations for EAA AirVenture 2021. You would participate in the normal registration process for those reservations. A refund would be available for anyone who has already lost a deposit fee from a previously canceled reservation for 2020.
The period to request a refund was from May 1st – September 1st, 2020. At this time, there is no longer an option to request a refund, as the September 1st deadline has passed.
All guests who had not submitted our online request form indicating their choice within this time frame have now had their reservation automatically transferred to EAA 2021, as per our COVID-19 cancellation policy. All payments associated with the EAA 2020 reservation have been applied to the EAA 2021 reservation. Guests whose reservation was transferred to EAA 2021 received an email confirmation.
If you have yet to make a reservation for 2021, we will begin taking new reservations starting October 5th, 2020 at 8:00AM CDT. You may call or email us on this date to reserve any new reservations you have.
Due to very limited staff members presently working in our EAA AirVenture office, we are asking that all communication be received by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are truly grateful for the relationship we have with each of you as our EAA AirVenture lodging guests. We will be staffed 8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday through Friday.
