Outstanding Alumni


John Leffin

John Leffin received his bachelor’s degree in business administration, with majors in finance and operations management, from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business Administration in 1981. He was honored as the outstanding alumnus in 1995.

Leffin has over 35 years of experience in consulting, leadership development, executive coaching, process improvement, organization change and human performance. Leffin spent 21 years with Accenture where he held a number of global and U.S. leadership positions in the change management and human performance practices. He was the lead partner on a number of large multibillion-dollar global accounts. 

In 2006, Leffin and a few of his former Accenture partners launched the Accenture Leadership Center in the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin. He serves on the Governance Board and is a frequent speaker at the School of Business. John served as a lead facilitator for ten years at the 6-day LeaderShape Institute, teaching students how to “lead with integrity.” He also developed and leads the 3-day Leadership at Lambeau program for UW students. Leffin was awarded the School of Business Shape the Future award for his work there.

Leffin coaches clients on strategy, leadership, personal effectiveness and career development. He served as a Trustee and Chairman of the Board of the Halftime Institute and is a certified Halftime coach. Leffin has also served as a leadership coach for the Green Bay Packers. 

The Leffin Family Foundation is heavily invested in education initiatives in the U.S. and Haiti. They have supported a number of education initiatives, including the building and ongoing support of a technical school. Leffin served as Chairman of the Board of Mission of Hope, Haiti for 6 years.

John and Loretta live in Naples, Florida and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. They have 2 daughters, Melissa and Krista.
