Go International with the College of Business!

In an increasingly interconnected and global world, an understanding of international business and economic issues is very important. The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s College of Business seeks to promote international awareness and global studies as part of its vision.

In order to ensure our students have the best possible preparation to meet the challenges of the international business world, the College of Business is committed to providing opportunities for short- and long-term international study, as well as international experiences in the classroom and on campus.

The college offers short-term study abroad opportunities and semester or year-long study abroad programs. Internships may also be available.

Students can take advantage of faculty with international research interests to develop international management. Students also have the option of completing a global business minor — an excellent addition to any course of study.

Long-Term Study Tours

The College of Business supports semester-long study abroad and overseas internships. Through the Office of International Education, business majors have the opportunity to spend a semester studying abroad. Students can also spend a semester studying and interning with partner universities.

  • Hessen, Germany: Hessen, fall or spring semester
  • Lorenzo de’Medici program in Italy
  • Business and Culture in China
  • Ningbo University, China: Ningbo City, Zhejian Provinc, Fall (mid September – mid January); Spring (late February/early March – late June/early July); Summer (Students can take Business courses in English or Chinese language courses)

European Business Travel Seminar

Join UW Oshkosh professor Dr. Alexander Kovzik as you visit international businesses and government institutions and experience a variety of cultures in multiple cities and countries!

  • LEARN about cross-cultural differences in economic policy and management techniques.
  • REFLECT on individual cultural adaptability.
  • GAIN a better understanding of your ability to work in a global economy.
  • DEVELOP your cultural adaptation skills.
  • EXPERIENCE using three different currencies, languages, and cultures.
  • EXPLORE famous historic cities.

The objective of The European Business Travel seminar is to provide maximum exposure of students to various businesses and cultural experiences. It includes visits to 4 countries in Central Europe. Students will learn about cross-cultural differences in economic policy and management techniques through classroom instruction and visits to a variety of businesses and government institutions. In addition, they will complete self-assessments measuring their individual culture adaptivity to gain a better understanding of their ability to work in a global economy. As part of this course experiences, students will have the opportunity to develop their cultural adaptation skills by exploring famous historic cities, deal with three different currencies, languages, and cultures.

International Business and Operations Management in Ireland

International Business and Operations Management in Ireland

Each spring interim, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business offers a three-week program in international business and operations management in Dublin, Cork and Galway, Ireland. In addition to earning academic credit, you’ll discover why companies like Dell, Siemens and many others have selected Ireland as the site for centers of excellence for international operations.

You’ll also have a chance to experience a bit of what life is like for Irish university students by living and studying on the campus of three iconic universities in Ireland. You’ll also tour a wide variety of multinational enterprises, and visit world-famous attractions such as the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and Blarney Castle.

Along the way, you’ll also discover what Lonely Planet calls “a country with a big reputation, timeless landscapes and a fascinating, friendly people, whose lyrical nature is expressed in the warmth of their welcome.
