For non-emergency needs during evening or weekend hours, students can visit one of the following urgent care facilities in the Oshkosh area.

  • If covered by health insurance, it is important to contact your insurance company to determine coverage of local health care facilities.
  • Be sure to bring your insurance card along to your visit.

Mental Health Emergency

If you are experiencing any mental health crisis symptoms during business hours, please call the UWO Student Health Center at (920) 424 -2424 or UWO Counseling Center at (920) 424-2061 and be sure to make reception aware of current crisis symptoms.

Mental health crisis symptoms may consist of any of the following:

  • Thoughts of harm to self
  • Thoughts of harm to others
  • Recent loss
  • Recent trauma

The UWO Counseling Center offers confidential counseling services for students. A crisis counselor is available during business hours and students feeling unsafe will be seen the same day. The UWO Counseling Center is located in the Student Success Center, Suite 240.

After Hours Mental Health Support 24/7

  • Available after hours, the UW Mental Health counselors work to ensure students’ mental health concerns and crises are managed properly and they receive the best care possible in the moment. Bilingual representatives available.
