First Year Opportunities

The Kennedy Center defines arts integration as an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form.  Students engage in the creative process which connects an art form and another subject area and meets evolving objectives in both.

Practicing teachers are invited to attend our annual Bridge Day and Arts Integration Symposium.  Bridge Day is held in September, showcasing short, arts integrated lessons.  The annual Arts Integration Symposium features a keynote speaker and round table sessions presented by arts integration trained teachers focusing on current educational topics of interest.  Visit our events page for more information on these specific events.

Visit our Resources page to discover numerous Arts Integration lessons.  These lessons have been developed and utilized in classrooms across the state.

ArtsCore School District Coordinators & Coaches

Interested in using arts integration in your classroom, but not sure where to begin?  ArtsCore helps first year teachers step into the world of teaching and arts integration by pairing them with mentors from ArtsCore’s partner schools. First year teachers and their mentors are invited to participate in additional events outside of the classroom to broaden their professional development skills.

If you are interested in working with a mentor or would like more specific information to your school district, please contact your district ArtsCore Coordinator.
