Electron Microscopy

The facility houses both a Hitachi Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)( model SN-2460) and a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) ( model H-7000T). The Electron Microsccopy Facility also contains all of the ancillary equipment needed to prepare samples for either microscope. This includes: a Reichert Ultracut ultra microtome, a Tousimis critical point dryer, Denton Desk sputter coater, Htiachi vacuum evaporator, fume hood, and assorted other small equipment. Please note that due to budget cuts, access to the above equipment will be limited.
