The information below is ONLY for students who declared a major before the 2018-2019 academic year.

Ecology and Organismal Biology Emphasis

This emphasis is recommended for students who have a special interest in ecology and/or organismal biology, and those interested in careers in fisheries, wildlife and water resources management, environmental consulting, wildlife rehabilitation, or graduate programs in ecology and evolutionary biology.

Required Units (crs.): 60 minimum

  • Biology 349
  • Biology 319 or 345 or 450
  • Biology 325
  • Two courses from the following: Biology 326, 376, or 386
  • One course from the following: Math 171/175, Math 201, Psychology 203, or Geography 385

Electives: 14 units (crs.) from these courses (if not used to fill preceding requirement):

  • Biology 300, 304, 308, 316, 318, 321, 326, 327, 328, 330, 332, 335, 336, 338, 354, 355, 358, 367, 376, 386
