High School Student Programs
For qualified high school students interested in earning college credits while still in high school, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh offers several program options that challenge and prepare you for your college career.
Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP)
CAPP, at UW Oshkosh, provides academically able high school students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. Qualified students may enroll in select college courses taught by University-approved high school instructors.
CAPP students experience the academic rigor of University course work while remaining with high school peers. CAPP helps to set students apart from other college applicants and gives them a jump start on a college career. A list of schools participating in the CAPP program is available on our program website.
For questions about CAPP, please call the CAPP Office at (920) 424-3003.
Early College Credit Program (ECCP)
UW Oshkosh participates in ECCP, which was created by the State of Wisconsin Legislature. This program allows qualified public school students in grades 9 through 12 to enroll in courses at institutions of higher education with fees and tuition for pre-approved courses shared by local school districts, private school, the state and in some cases the student. ECCP students attend college classes on campus rather than on site at their high schools.
To participate in the program, a student must apply to both the local school board and a chosen institution of higher education and must meet that institution’s admission requirements. Each college or university participating in ECCP sets its own admission requirements.
High School Specials on Campus
UW Oshkosh offers another option for qualified high school students who attend public, private or parochial schools, or who are home schooled. Students approved for admission to the High School Specials on Campus option must meet similar admissions requirements to those met by CAPP and ECCP students. They also must meet all course prerequisites prior to enrolling in collegiate-level course work. High School Special students are required to re-apply for each semester of enrollment.
For additional information about the High School Specials option at UW Oshkosh, please contact us at (920) 424-3164 to speak with an admissions counselor.
