Faculty & Staff
It’s easy to get to know the journalism faculty and staff on the third floor of Sage Hall. Our department includes seven full-time faculty members, as well as adjunct instructors and an internship coordinator.
Often, the first friendly face you will meet is Cindy Schultz, our program assistant who manages daily operations from our main office at 3003 Sage Hall. Students are welcome to meet with Department Chair, Timothy R. Gleason, for insights on any topic, such as degree options, curriculum and student opportunities.
Faculty and staff have advanced degrees and professional experience in the field, and continue to engage in research and creative media work year-round to augment teaching. Our highly productive faculty regularly publish in top media journals, write textbooks of use nationwide and engage in creative and journalism work in the field. This scholarship and modern practice help students have opportunities to participate in media projects.
Students can rely on our faculty, staff and internship coordinator to provide mentoring, career advice, resume assistance, professional networking and job recommendations.

“The professors in the journalism department are so wonderful. They want to see students succeed and take the time to do everything they can so that can happen.”
