Request Accommodations

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive campus experience for all members of the campus community. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, 1973 and Americans with Disabilities Act, 1990 (ADA) provide that no qualified individual with a disability be denied access to or participation in services, programs, and activities at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. It is the policy of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh to provide reasonable accommodations for qualified persons with disabilities.

Accommodations for Students

If you are a student or prospective student, the Accessibility Center in the Dean of Students Office is committed to providing services and support for students with disabilities. Offering a range of resources, the Accessibility Center coordinates reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities, providing students an opportunity to reach their highest level of success along with promoting independence and self-advocacy.

Students who would like to request accommodations for a disability can do so via the Dean of Students Office Accessibility Center.

Accommodations for Job Applicants

UWO provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities who are employees or applicants for employment. Employment opportunities will not be denied because of the need to make reasonable accommodations for a qualified individual with a disability. If you need assistance or accommodation in applying or throughout the interview process because of a disability, please contact afaction@uwosh.edu or 920-424-1166.

Applicants who have received job offers will make accommodation requests using the information outlined below regarding Accommodations for Employees.

Accommodations for Employees

Employees are responsible for initiating requests for any desired disability-related workplace accommodation. Employees can request reasonable accommodations through Equal Opportunity, Equity & Affirmative Action.  More information on how to do so can be found here: Employee Accommodation Requests

The employee making the request is required to cooperate throughout the interactive process by attending meetings to discuss the needed accommodation and timely providing medical documentation where necessary. Accommodations are not required to apply retroactively.

If you are an employee having difficulty successfully performing duties of your job due to limitations from a disability or medical condition or if you need leave related to a disability, please contact EOEAA for a confidential conversation.
