The College of Nursing admits students to the MSN–Clinical Nurse Leader and MSN–Nurse Educator emphases every fall. Applications are available July 1st–March 31st for the following fall admission cycle. Application materials must be received by the College of Nursing Graduate Program Office, and official transcripts must be received by the UW Oshkosh Graduate Studies Office no later than March 31st to to be eligible for the following fall.
The College of Nursing Graduate Program will hold interviews for fall 2021 admission beginning early 2021. Official interview dates will be announced as soon as possible.
Step 1 – Apply to the University
Complete the online UW System application and pay the $56 application fee at apply.wisconsin.edu.
Once completed, the application is sent electronically to UW Oshkosh Office of Graduate Studies. The Graduate Studies office will review and forward the online application to the College of Nursing.
Application must be received by March 31st to be eligible for classes the following fall.
Step 2 – Submit Official Transcrips
Submit official undergraduate transcripts* (and graduate, if applicable) to the UW Oshkosh Office of Graduate Studies by March 31st. Transcripts must be sent directly from a university; transcripts submitted by the applicant are not considered official.

*Applicants who have graduated from—or taken courses at—UW Oshkosh do not need to submit official transcripts from the University, as these can be accessed from our internal offices.
Step 3 – Submit Supplemental Materials
Applicants must mail items A–D directly to the College of Nursing Graduate Program Office.

Applicants are to complete the top portion of the reference form (Item E) and forward to the three references listed on their UW System application. Reference forms are to be sent directly from the references to the College of Nursing Graduate Program Office. This can be done either by email, fax or mailing to the address listed above. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, please have all references email their completed forms to email@example.com.
E) Reference Letter Form – A minimum of three references forms are required from a current supervisor, organization/agency leader and/or professor.***
*Applications can be submitted by those who have yet to graduate from a BSN program and attain an RN license. Transcripts bearing BSN degree completion and proof of RN licensure must be submitted prior to receiving full-standing admission to the program.
**Upon admission to program, applicants must complete a full background check with associated fees. Background checks are not considered part of the evaluation/selection process and are only used for advising purposes.
***Applicants who have been away from school for an extended period of time should utilize a reference who can summarize the applicant’s current knowledge base.
Step 4 – Admission Interview
After admission requirements are met and supporting materials have been received by the respective graduate offices by the March 31st deadline, eligible applicants will be invited to participate in an interview. The College of Nursing Graduate Program will hold interviews for fall 2021 admission beginning early 2021. Official interview dates will be announced as soon as possible.
If accepted into the program, new admits must attend orientation. The new student orientation for fall 2020 admits will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. This orientation will be held virtually due to the continued uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation.
